Welcome to the new Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians, Local 422 Web site.

Becoming a Plan Participant

You become a participant in the Plan when you complete 300 hours in Covered Employment. If you were a participant in the former Pension Plan for Employees of Local Union #81, you became a participant in this Plan when the former Local Union #81 Plan was merged with this Plan on June 1, 2000.

You are no longer a participant if you fail to accumulate at least 300 hours in Covered Employment during a Plan Year. This is referred to as a One-Year break in service and is further described in the Retirement and Pension Summary Plan Description (SPD) booklet. You may become a participant again if you complete at least 300 hours in Covered Employment in a Plan Year after the Plan Year during which your participation has stopped.

If you have questions about your eligibility for benefits or how your benefits will be calculated, you should contact the Pension Fund Office.

The information on this web site presents selected highlights of the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians, Local 422 Benefit Funds as of January 1, 2009. The actual Plan provisions of each Plan are in the Plan’s legal document. In the event of a conflict between the wording on the site and the legal documents, the legal documents will govern. The Trustees reserve the right to amend, modify, or discontinue all or part of the Plan at any time.
