RETIRED Members

As long as you were married at least one year before electing coverage under the Retiree Program, you may add your spouse as an Eligible Dependent.

If you are a Retired Employee, you may continue coverage for yourself and your Eligible Dependents through this Plan. This benefit is described in detail in the Health and Welfare Summary Plan Description (SPD) booklet. Depending on Medicare eligibility, you and your Eligible Dependents, if any, are covered under either:

Class B benefits, which are for non-Medicare-eligible Retired or Disabled Employees and/or Eligible Dependents of Retired or
Disabled Employees; or
Class C benefits, which are for Medicare-eligible Retired or Disabled Employees and/or Eligible Dependents of Retired or Disabled Employees.

You and your spouse would both be considered Class B Members if neither of you are eligible for Medicare. However, if you are eligible for Medicare and your spouse is not, you would be considered a Class C Member and your spouse would be considered a Class B Member.
